Language transferThe research on language transfer has never ceased. It has long been a prevailing topic by linguists, second language acquisition researchers and foreign language teachers. Although the study of language transfer has sustained a long time, the definition of language transfer is still a controversial issue in the field of linguistics. (Dai WeiDong, 2002)Corder (1983) regards language transfer as a communicative strategy, he named it borrowing. The transfer in language learning is a structural transfer. Due to repeated borrowing, the borrowed language form finally enters the grammar of interlanguage.Faerch and Kasper (as cited in Dai Weidong, 2002) argue that language transfer is a linguistic psychological process in which second language learners motivate their native language knowledge to develop or use interlanguage.Schachter (1974) doesnt regard transfer as a psychological process. Schachter regards language transfer as a constraint in the language learning process. She believes that the knowledge previously acquired by learners is constrained by the learner's assumptions about the target language. In the process of second language acquisition, the learner makes some assumptions about the target language and develops the interlanguage in the process of checking the hypothesis.Odlin (1989) believes that transfer is a difference or similarity between a target language and a language that has been learned or not fully learned. Odlin regarded language transfer as a cross-linguistic influence.Although there are different definitions of language migration, it does not hinder the research and application of language transfer. Odlin (1989) argued that language transfer would produce positive and negative transfer. Positive transfer is conducive to the learning of the target language, and negative transfer is not conducive to the learning of the target language. Negative TransferTransfer refers to the transfer of behavior which learned in one environment to another (Richards, 1985). Language transfer includes both positive transfer and negative transfer. In second language acquisition, it is a very common phenomenon that the mother tongue interferes with the learning of the target language (Towell the second is that beginners of a second language are more likely to frequently call their native language (Zhu Haimei, 1990)." Error Analysis (EA) Theory found that only about 25% of foreign language learners' mistakes were caused by the negative transfer of mother tongue knowledge (Shu Dingfang, 1996: 51). However, for Chinese students, 51% of the mistakes are caused by their mother tongue, while for native Spanish-speaking learners, only 3% of the mistakes come from Mother tongue interference when learning English (Ellis, 1986: 29)Translation ProcessTranslation is a complex activity, as far as translation itself is concerned, it can be divided into two aspects: production and process. Translation studies have always focused on the study of translation production, such as the analysis and evaluation of translations, the comparison of translations with original texts, and so on. However, it is far from enough to study translation results. It cannot make us understand the nature of translation. To understand the nature of translation, we need to study the process of translation activities. (Jiang Suhua, 1998)The process of translation is the process of thinking, so the translation process is mainly studied from the perspective of cognitive psychology. At present, the main method used in the study of the translation process is the introspection. Although the introspection once attacked by behavioral psychology in history, it has been re-recognized since the 1970s and is widely used in cognitive psychology research. (Jiang Suhua, 1998)Think-aloud Protocols (TAPs) is a special method of introspection. At present, Think-aloud Protocols have been widely accepted as a reliable procedure for collecting data. (Song Zhiping & Cheng, 2006) Think-aloud Protocols requires translators to search for the translation process. At the same time, all the thinking activities in the brain are expressed orally. The researchers recorded the "speech report" with a tape recorder or a video recorder, and statistically analyzed it in order to discover the working mechanism of the translator's brain. Through the data provided by the introspection and thought-aloud protocols, linguists and translation researchers can discover and determine the units of translation, the problems encountered in translation, the strategies of translation, and the process of translation (Jiang Suhua, 1998).
3. 设计方案和技术路线
This paper aims to explore the influence of negative transfer on the logical expression of E-C translation process through experiment. The author selected two intermediate English classes of non-English majors; students of these two classes are taught by the same teacher. Two different Chinese to English translation tests were conducted among these two classes for analysis of errors. The text of these two translation tests has the same meaning, but the approaches of logical expression vary according to the habits of Chinese and English.

5. 难点与创新点
Negative transfer, as an important factor which influences English learning, has long been the focus of researches in linguistics. In most previous studies, this phenomenon was investigated only by analyzing the students language production, which is difficult to reflect the thinking process of students in the translation process, especially the logical expression of students. This paper aims to explore the influence of negative transfer on the logical expression of E-C translation process through experiment.
